Electromagnetic Induction

Find out a bit more about our Electromagnetic Locating Service
and the type of underground utilities and services that we are able to locate.

Electromagnetic Induction

Electromagnetic Induction was discovered by Michael Faraday in 1831. Today we use the same principles of electromagnetic induction to locate metallic underground utilities and services using an electromagnetic cable & pipe locator.

Using this method we can locate the following:

Electrical Cables

Low Voltage, High Voltage, Extra-High Voltage.

Telstra

Metallic cable telecommunications network.

Water

Metallic pipe network, mains and services.

Gas

Metallic pipe network, mains and services.

Fire Services

Metallic pipe network, mains, hydrants and hose reels.

Petroleum Lines

Metallic bowser product lines to high pressure oil pipelines.

Additionally using a traceable copper cored FlexiTrace
we can locate the following:

Fibre Optic Networks

Fibre Optic cable network that is accessible to FlexiTrace via a conduit.

Sewer Mains and Laterals

Sewer pipe network that is accessible to FlexiTrace via an entry point.

Drainage Pipes

Drainage pipe network that is accessible to FlexiTrace via an entry point.
